Founder, Neil Beck retires after thirty years at Beckville. All of the staff, his friends and family wish him well in his retirement. Neil plans to spend his time with his hobbies of gardening and woodworking.
The 20th Annual AWMAC BC Awards of Excellence continued the tradition of honoring those involved in the design, manufacture and supply of architectural woodwork. Beckville Woodcrafts won the Ed Fielder Award for Overall Excellence of Quality and Service on a Large Project for the North Show Credit Union project in Whistler.
The winner of the AWMAC BC Provincial Apprenticeship Contest, held at the BC Institute of Technology on March 20th, was Cam Cordoni of Beckville Woodcrafts. Cam went on to win the AWMAC National Apprenticeship Contest! Cam joins the growing list of Beckville apprentices who have won in the past.
We are continuing to support the joinery program at BCIT. Currently we have two apprentices enrolled in the program.
Beckville is proud to have helped to put smiles on the faces of special children by donating a credenza for the Sunshine Kids Dreamlift to Disneyland 2012 fund. This beautiful piece was meticulously designed and built at Beckville to be auctioned off at the Sunshine Dreams golf tournament. The $13,000 this unit generated was greatly appreciated.
Yearly Beckville participates in furthering the education of the young future apprentices by hosting them during work experience. With great success we have gone on to hire some of these students after graduation.
